Una's Memories - Mobility UUM

Tulisannya gimana ya, let's start with this.

Hi shobs, my name is Una, I am a student at IAP Unsyiah, and now I'm a mobility student in UUM. Through this, I would like to share my kind of little story on what was me and other mobility students doing before registered as UUM Student. My thanks and honors to all lecturers from Unsyiah and UUM, also to the students, families, friends, and all seniors, that I think, they are more experienced than me.

So, the first thing we did before entering Malaysia, was waiting for the visa, because we're going to study for more than 1 month, so student visa is needed. It takes about 2 months processed by the institution and immigration office. Yas, quite a long time. Thus, here I am, really appreciate anything and hoping, for all persons who are responsible on this visa processing, in the future, they can be more responsible on it, make it easier and faster for students. And for students, I suggest to kindly and politely ask them for help and try to communicate and do start the process earlier in 3 or 4 months before.

Then, 4 March 2017, we flight to Malaysia, landed in Penang Airport and went to UUM by bus for 3 hours. We arrived in DPP (student residential) at about 4 pm. We ended that day by clearing up our new room.

The first day in UUM, 5 March 2017, the first activity is medical check-up at PKU (Pusat Kasihatan University) or Health Centre and we did it in two days, because 'ngantri coy'. There are about more than 100 mobility students, not only from Indonesia, but also other countries like China, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Philippines, and etc. A medical check-up is done.

Then, we go to the next process is registering yourself as UUM Student to the Jabatan HEA (Hal Ehwal Akademik) or Department of Academic Office. There we finally got the registered letter of acceptance as UUM Student officially, then we registered for the classes. We took 4 subjects to be transferred to UNSYIAH later and another compulsory subject for an exchange student.

It didn't finish yet. In the same day, 6 March 2016 at about 11 pm, we go to U-Assist to got Matric Card (Student 💳) and settled insurance. We should queue for the services about 10 minutes and the matric card done in just 5 minutes and about 15 minutes to settle the insurance.

After a lunch break, 2 pm, we're going to UUM IT to register for the Wi-Fi users ID and password and either for student email. Yuhuuu. FYI, the Wi-Fi is so fast and furious *eh. Hopefully, UNSYIAH will provide it too. Mission accomplished.

The third day,  7 March 2017, is the last thing to do before studying (while actually we already entered class today because it's too late man, 2 weeks late:'). Student Pass and Multiple Visa Entry, which is a visa that allows us to enter Malaysia more than once in 10 months. So we can go to other countries like Thailand or Singapore while we're studying in UUM. Those are the things that we should have in our passports. We went to CIAC (The Centre of International Affairs and Cooperation), on when we're free (don't have class), at that time is 2 pm.

Finally. Finished. Next phase is studying. Hope we found what we're looking for here!! And go back with good marks :)
